Welsh Cakes & Bara Brith

Welsh Cakes (picau ar y maen) are traditional in Wales & have been popular since the late 19th Century. Using only basic dried ingedients, they were popular with mining families as an inexpensive, robust cake. Miners would often take one into the mine in their pockets to keep hunger at bay.

Bara Brith is translated into 'speckled bread' and it's a traditional, fruit loaf which is normally served with plenty of Welsh butter. The dried fruit is soaked in tea overnight, this gives the loaf a delicious, moist centre which has a lovely, rich flavour. Again, made with only basic ingredients, bara brith was popular with mining families and was a tea time favourite.

Our delicious, artisan welshcakes and bara brith are handmade with love & freshly baked before your special occasion or event. We use only the finest (and when possible, Welsh) ingredients, including fresh, free range Welsh eggs & the most delicious, creamy Welsh butter.

They are beautifully presented and make a perfect accompaniment to any event such as business meetings, corporate events, Christenings, baby showers - the list is endless!

These delicious splits can be filled with either jam, lemon curd or Nutella.

Bara Brith

Our delicious bara brith is made to a traditional recipe, using the best ingredients. It is available by the loaf, which we offer in either large or small sizes. Wrapped beautifully in rustic brown paper, it's a piece of Welsh heritage at it's best.

We also supply mini, individual loaves of bara brith which are packaged as beautiful, unusual wedding favours.

Vegan Welshcakes & Bara Brith

We freshly bake the most delicious, plant based welshcakes and bara brith. We have a selection of vegan welshcake flavours, which can be supplied in any shape or size.

Our vegan bara brith is truly delicious, moist and rich - perfect with some plant based spread and a cup of welsh tea.

We also freshly bake gluten free and diabetic welshcakes.
